  • APPLICATION OVERVIEW

    The Legacy Funds of Holy Names University is committed to supporting students who have faced significant challenges and are determined to pursue higher education. This scholarship is designed for students with financial need who have demonstrated resilience, and are committed to their education and community. Students will be required to upload their transcripts, documentation to verify financial need, two letters of recommendation, and a 250-300 word essay. Essay topics are included in the application. Applicants who include a resume will receive additional consideration. The system will allow applicants to save work and return to complete it at a later time, if needed.

  • ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

    Applicants must meet the following criteria:
    1. Be a current high school senior, college student, or adult learner;
    2. A California resident (Priority will be given to students residing in Oakland, CA);
    3. Must be enrolled in an accredited four-year California college or university. (Community colleges and trade schools are ineligible.);
    4. Demonstrate financial need;
    5. Demonstrate alignment with the Sisters of the Holy Names' values, which are a commitment to community service, education or social justice; and
    6. Submit a complete application including essay, transcripts and evidence of financial need.

  • APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

    Please complete all general questions. In the Academic section, complete the section that is applicable to you. Be prepared to upload your transcripts, financial information and letters of recommendation. Extra points will be given for uploading a current resume. You may save your work and return to complete it at a later time. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
